Hi guy's,

I'm currently looking for an A3, preferably a TDI and just wanted to know if there are any known problems i should be looking out for or anything i should be avoiding on them. Also, what are the power differences between the 1.9 TDI and the 2.0TDI?

I saw this on Autotrader last night. http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-uk/www/cars/AUDI+A3/Ne-2-4-5-6-7-8-27-44-49-53-61-64-67-103-133-146-236,N-24-144-240-4294966494-4294966807/search.action?&sort=p_VehiclePrice&postcode=EN2+6SY&radius=100&showMoreOptions=&page=2 (2nd one on the page). Any thoughts? Does the price look ok? Sorry for all the questions, but they all seam so cheap, surely they must be worth more than £5000- £6000? I just need a nice car for the daily commute to work, so i wont be looking at modifications, but a remap is definately on the cards.

Thanks in advance.

wheels look good mate. Nice in black.

In that year, the 1.9tdi is 105bhp

2.0tdi 140bhp.

Just normal vw problems with both mate. Always check service history and bushing and things, no knocking over bumps etc.

1.9 will remap to 135-145ish and the 2.0 will map to around 165-170bhp.

And always get the mileage checked on sites like www.mycarcheck.co.uk.

Higher mileage examples will always come cheaper, but still check as there are alot of cars clocked out there.

In addition to the above, on the early model TDIs, check the oil filler cap for any white residue. Could be signs of a porous head which is a known fault.
