The golf one wont work in the audi,i take it the audi should have remote central locking? and if so what kind of key has it got at the minute?

As leach says, presumably the Audi has central locking and the original transponder has been lost? Pretty sure Stevee looked into replacement fobs and it was a dealer job.

It would have to have the exact same frequency and the exact same part number for it to work. As dave said, you can buy them cheap from the bay, and cut it. It will open doors but you cant get it to open the immobiliser.

That job has to be with the dealers. I tried, and a friend of mine has vagtacho, which is a program to recode keys, and it wouldnt access my ecu. Audis are notoriously hard to code. I spent so much time trying to get it to work that it would of been cheaper to of gone to Audi in the first place!!
