just to tell pepole that i have noticed for the first say 4 -5 minutes my car idles ok then starts to have a poor idle untill its warm

wondering what the probelm is

. dmf has been changed

cam timing 0.5

no fault codes

put air con on and it's ok

have read that my manifold could be clogged up due to high milage wondering what people think ?

if i had an small air leak by the egr syatem would i get an engine light fault ? injectors worn out ? fuel pump ? egr and flap has been cleaned out.

If you have VCDS go into the measuring blocks and check the engine water temp / sensor.

On the older generation 1.9's these were notorious for causing bad running.

Failing that, I'd suspect the EGR.

A dodgy coolant temp sensor or clogged EGR 9/10 times will not trigger a code.

Hence with the CTS go into the measuring block to observe what the sensor is telling the ECU. It might be telling fins to it!

Well if it's ok when the aircon is on then it has to be an idle sensor. And heat related. Could even be a dodgy ecu

Does the idle improve if you disconnect the engine temp sensor

I just meant some of the sensors that effect the idle. For diagnostics just when it's idling bad unplug that temp sensor and see if it makes a difference.

my car was running rough when i had an air eak between teh black pipe and IMF (intake manifold flap).

but because the ac helps, i doubt it is an air leak.

as per pm, temp sendor would be next on my cards as well as cleaning out the manifold as mine was clogggggeeedddd :D

the ounly way i think to test um properly is to remove um and have um tested.

Yep thats the tandem pump. Pumps and regulates injectors on the fuel rail.
