Hi Guys,

I want to change the oil on my 1.9 TDI PD engine myself. Not having done this yet i was wondering if anybody knows the procedure and any helpful tips.

I have bought a filter, is there anything else i require?

Oil. [;)] Sorry, couldn't resist! On a serious note, make sure you use the correct oil for a PD engine.

LOL........forgot about that.

Im using Mobile 1 ESP but i was thinking more on the actual procedure on an Audi.

normally i get a oil filter which screws onto the outside of the engine but this filter obviously sits inside the engine. Cant even see where its suppose to go.

Looking for general procedure of how to do an oil change in a a$ diesel.

Airfilter is easy enough to do. Sump plug is a pain to get to just because the engine undertray is a pain. I use plastic tiegrips clips to hold it back on. Here is the housing of the oil filter. The top unscrews to reveal the paper filter. The top has a long plastic part that holds the filter in place. Bottom has a small rubber gasket, and the top has a bigger gasket to go around the rim. The fuel filter can be seen in the pic to the left.
