Had my A4 three weeks, before I even had a chance to properly clean in and fit my uk-audis sticker[:D] in the window it now needs an O/S/R door and the quarter panel straightening..........gutted[:(]

The worst thing is the numpty tried to say the damage was already there!

Stopped outside a garage in Cambridge because one of the mechanics was reversing their works van out of a parking space, he was to busy eating his sandwich to see me waiting for him so reversed down the side of my car.

Then he got gobby with me saying that I was moving and not stopped.

Then my passanger (a workmate who is 6'3, 19 stone, has no top teeth and forearms full of tattoos) got out of the car then he re-thought what he was saying and got his manager.

Best thing is the gobby lad was the garage owners son!

[clap] Sounds like your workmate is a handy person to have around!

It's good that you've got a witness. Sounds like the other driver might try to get out of the claim.

Yeah they are a bit shonkey, and my mate used to work for them so knows the owner quite well, and I also work for a garage in Cambridge, so my boss knows the owner aswell (Cambridge is not a big place!) so that makes it a slightly better situation.

Still very annoying though as the car was mint, and he is trying to go through as a cash job.

No no no no! It's your choice where it goes and, AFAIK, you can insist on going through his insurers.

Yep, already had an estimate from my preferred repairer (a Ferrari specialist) and contacted the insurance company to tell them there has been an accident.

Just want to know what they are planning on doing before I start digging my heels in so to speak.

Remember, as the accident wasn't your fault, you're legally allowed to have an equal type car to the one you have as a courtesy car whilst yours is being repaired... last year I got an E-Class Merc for a week from Enterprise (after being given a Jag & taking it back because it was pants!) They can't give you an Insignia/Mondeo as Audis are considered better!
