Sorry about that lads, stevee, there was a lot of work required, with the car being a demonstrator , it must have had the same dirty sponge and chammy leather put across the boot , bonnet , wings doors etc 100,s of times, anyway shes sparkling now with smooth paintwork

hehe, thanks for the cheeky pic there Dave!

Hope you're pleased; thanks for bearing with me throughout the day, too. It's a long one, isn't it? (the day!)

As promised, here's a quick run-down of the days activities.

Audi TT mk2 - Dolphin Grey - Single day minor correction

Product

· AutoGlym Fast Glass

· AutoSmart G101

· AutoSmart Tardis

· BelgomALU

· Chemical Guys JetSEAL901

· Dodo Juice Born To Be Mild

· Jeffs Werkstat Jett Trigger

· Jeffs Werkstat Prime

· Meguiars Last Touch

· Meguiars Endurance Tyre Gel

· Menzerna 203s

· Poorboys White Diamond

· Sonus Green clay

Inspection..

Overall, a very clean and well looked after motor with just the light wash marring and dealer swirls letting it down..

Sills, shuts and wheels worked on first..

The wheels had come off of the car only a few days ago.. Whilst off, they were sealed and topped with 2 coats of wax (so very little for me to do today!)

Fiddly areas cleaned with G101 and a detail brush:

Snowfoam delivered and further 'brush work' commenced:

One or two tiny tar deposits dealt with with Tardis.

This was about the worst of the contaminants I could find today.. As said, a very well cared for vehicle.

Clean.

Yesterdays Enhancement work on the RS6 worked wonders. Today however, it'd have been useless. The TT's paint was very hard; an initial Menzerna 203s test carried out with a 3M polishing pad and little difference was made. Bearing in mind we only had the rest of the afternoon to carry the work out, a single-pass is all we could make. Stepping up to a Meguiars pad and, we're happy at that.

Boot-lid before and after:

Right hand
side of bonnet untouched:

And left
hand side 'enhanced':

The marks on
the bonnet appeared to be much deeper than everywhere else.. Look at the
rear
quarter/boot-lid for instance:

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

&#8230;this
cleaned up very well indeed.

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

It's about
at this point it all starts to get a little too much for Dave..

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

Rear
clusters were quite heavily swirled:

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

A pass with
203s on a spot polishing pad improved things, but, deep RDS's remained.

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

After the
rotary work was complete, the DA was fired up and White Diamond glaze
used to
clean the paintwork.

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

As a bit of
an experiment for the owner and I, and, to make the most of the metallic
flake,
we opted against a wax and stuck with Jeffs Werkstat Jett to seal the
paint.
Two layers applied in the hour we had left..

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

Meanwhile,
the tyres were dressed, sills and shuts cleansed, windows polished and
britework attended to (not as though it really needed it!)

<o:p> </o:p>

Finished off
at 7pm - another 10+ hour day (day after the 11 hours spent of the RS6
Avant)

<o:p> </o:p>

As we'd lost
the sun at this point and we'd been unable to capture and true 'after'
photos
yet, we found a little spot on the trip home to snap a few final pics
and to
say our farewells.

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

Again,
thanks for reading. Tuesday brings yet another Audi! This time, a 2010
phantom
black A3.

Lovely job [H].

I've heard a few people recommend the Werkstat range - looks like good stuff from the results I've seen. I think jonny at Pure Detail uses it too.

Well after seeing the paint work ,after Jims detail, i have order some jett sealant, and will be using that rather than waxing the car, so i will let you know how i get on,

Jim , have you used the werkstat glos, or is the dodo red mist the same as?

Dave, I have the GLOS, and yes, use it occasionally.

Each to their own I think really.. I think RedMist will have more protection too it.. GLOS is just a wipedown to add a little gloss and remove smears etc etc.. If you were after the additional protection though you could run round the TT in five minutes with Jett Trigger and not only add the little extra bling, but, top-up the protection at the same time.

How is the car? Have you got round to washing it yourself yet, or?
