Hi, Ive just got my audi a3 2.0tfsi, when i came to insure it i gave them the full reg number which brought all my correct car details up, but after recieving the cover note it says my car is an Audi A3 2.0I Sline FSI hence it does not state its a turbo and has an I instead of a T. Could this affect me if i have an accident? i dont realy want to have to tell them its a turbo now because the premium could go up even though i have not lied to them and gave then the correct details in the first place.

Any Comments Welcome

Cheers Rob

Rob, you have to tell them if the details on the document are different to the car, otherwise your insurance could be void

As Dave says, advise them. Last thing you want is them refusing to pay out if needed just for the sake of saving an extra few quid.

Standard insurance company scam. They sell you a policy based on your car details, and make it nice and cheap. Then send you the policy through with the incorrect cheaper to insure car details on it and hope you won't notice. Then if you come to make a claim they refuse it and they've won. If you don't make a claim then they've won again. If you notice it and send the policy back then they'll charge you the extra they should've quoted you in the first place, and they've won again. If you refuse to pay the extra and go somewhere else then they've lost nothing.

Disclosure the best policy (No pun intended) tell them otherwise as per all the above, you make a claim and they will use it as an excuse not to pay out!!

rang them today, they had it insured as a 2.0fsi instead of tfsi, so i gave them a bollock in which made them listin to evry call i have made to them about this car and they reckon they never stated that it was a turbo and niether did i, but surely when you give a big company like direct line your reg number it should bring the right car up. Anyway ended up paying an extra £107 until end of july and i will not be renewing with them.

Thanks for all the comments

Pay £360 for the Altea Sport with me and wifey on the policy, and business use. I probably could get it cheaper if I spent hours trawling the web etc. but I just ring the broker if I have any problems and they sort it all out. Much easier than running the gauntlet of go compare etc. to save £30. The same broker looks after all my business insurance aswell.

Hi guys, I'm looking to get a RS4 when the weather perks up and was just wondering if anyone knows of any specialist insurance companies?

Ive had a little trouble in the past and looking to get some friendly advice.

Cheers [:)]

If I were you I would go on one of the compare the price web sites, this will give a good idea how much the price varies between different company's , then go to a reputable insurance company and see if they will match a cheaper company, most company's will drop in price ,if they know you have done some homework

good luck and let us know how you get on

CrazyAudi01? Try Brentacre down in wales (google them and you'll find 'em). They're good with stuff like that... They're doing the insurance on my 4.2 V8 A6 for a smidge over £500 with business cover and with my wife on it.. That's over £400 cheaper than my previous company wanted, and £50 cheaper than the Meerkats... :)

We're both over 35 though...
