Dave,

Been talking to the dealer about this deal today and although officially it doesnt extend to the S3, 'unofficially' it seems certain strings could be pulled if someone really wanted an Ibis white S3 for instance... [;)]

Not even worth smashing the piggy bank imo, getting 6.6% on my savings so this seems quite a good deal especially if the usual 8-10% can be had off the purchase price [Y]

That was pretty much my thinking too.

I've been in touch with a dealer recently and he says that he doesn't have enough margin to offer that rate AND discount the car - not that I think that's true.

I had a good quote from a broker at 8.6%APR, with a discounted car. I've since pointed out that Audi are offering 6.0% finance and he came back to me saying that he'll be able to give a better rate AND discount the car too. Should have the quote sometime Monday so we'll see what he comes up with.

So you're seriously thinking of an S3 then Beddie? Must be something in the air.....I see Curley has changed his A3 too.

Yeah Dave, pretty much at the 'if the right car comes up i'm having it stage' if i'm honest, nothing at all wrong with the A3, it is and has been a truly fantastic car [Y]

Just think i've run my course with it now and simply fancy a change, only cars floating my boat are an S3 or ED30 as per Mr Curley, it'll be the first time in 3 years i have'nt had the same car as him lol!!

Ibis or Sprint S3 or Red or Candy ED30, was gonna head over to Blackpool this afternoon to look at an ED30 but it's gone... [:(]

Get an ED30 Steve then sell me your RNS-E

So if someone managed to get over 11% discount on a new A3 AND the 6% finance rate, would you say this was a pretty sensational deal?

Stop rubbing it in. [] [:D]

I don't think he should sell the RNS to you Sem - you've already had plenty of good fortune. Sell it to me instead. Maybe it'll inspire me into finally getting an order placed! [:D]

Sem, Jill didn't get back to me by the way. Will be interesting to see what the broker comes back with tomorrow.

That's not a great rate to be honest. A rough guide is to double the flat rate to get the APR, hence the reason they prefer to give you the flat rate.

Your 5.5% flat rate is going to equate to somewhere around 10% to 12% APR very roughly speaking. Ouch.

Ahhh maybe not flat rate then, not sure, worked out cheaper than a personal loan I was offered at 8.9% APR.. Haven't got the paperwork with me to see exactly!

Edit: Just done a rough calculation on approximate figures and looks like around 3% flat rate, if your x2 theory is correct it works out around 6%

Not as good as the 5.5% that I had in my head though!!! Must check what it was when I get home tonight.

Gonna be late though as I have to fight through traffic to get to the dealer and back with the Insurance certificate for them to tax it!
