Pretty sure its plastic, seen it mentioned as 'purim' aswell somewhere.

Should match the car fine.

ABT are an official supplier to Audi and supply loads of bits for Audi, VW etc so I'd say they have to be good quality.

Up until recently ABT parts for the B6 were available from Audi dealers themselves but are now superceded with B7 and B8 parts

Hi,

I got the front and rear ABT's as listed above for my
wife's A4. I also got one of the Votex grills from them -
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260418666071&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
They delivered them quickly and are good quality, as you'd expect from
Audi approved parts I guess.

I also got a pair of sideskirts and
a rear upper spoiler extension from a different seller which will need a
little work to get a perfect fit...

I really like the rear but aren't so sure about the front and was thinking about modifying it as in the pics :

Original

Modified

Any opinions as it's going into the bodyshop next monday and I need to make up my mind.

Cheers

Hi,

I'm going to give modifying it a go, I thought exactly the same that it looks too 'fussy' as standard. I'll post some pics up of my efforts...

Car is keeping me busy at the moment, just done a full service with belts and the brakes all round, got the bodywork & kit to do, the suspension is on it's way out thanks to some stupid speed bumps at Clare's work so got some Weitec coilovers on order, sounds like a wheel bearing is on it's way out and the coolant temp sensor is throwing intermittent faults....

I've also got to put some arp rod bolts and new big end bearings in my Navara as it's up around the 60k miles mark now which is when they tend to break standard rod bolts and throw a rod through the block.. good old Nissan build quality!?

To top it all off, I bought and rebuilt a 2006 Rover Streetwise that was a Cat C right off as a runaround (only has 2000 miles on the clock) and the body control unit has just blown leaving the passenger door deadlocked, no wipers, horn...

If I didn't have bad luck at the moment I wouldn't have any luck at all :'(

Cheers

These things always seem to happen at once. Sounds like you're handy enough to sort it out though.

FWIW, I'm another vote to modify the front. It looks neater in the modded pic.

I had a chance to do a little on it today, much more to do over the
weekend as I've just started to build the structure back up so far.

Hi,

just thought I'd do a quick update.

The A4 has been
at the bodyshop all last week and is still there this week. I've been
down there getting all the bits to fit as best as I can, the sideskirts
have taken almost 2 days to get to fit acceptably. I've also had to go
with a set of aftermarket fog lights as the originals just didn't fit
or look right with the modified front bumper. Hopefully everything
will be at least in primer tomorrow.

The Navara (it's and 04 plate and done 63,000 miles) started making a
loud knocking noise last monday when Clare was on her way to work -
pulled into the nearest lay-by and the AA recovered it to my unit.
Took it apart on Saturday, main bearing on cylinder 3 was marked up
pretty badly but what was left of the upper half of the bearing from
cylinder 2 and the resulting damage to the crank and rod, well pictures say a
thousand words.

I'm so tempted to see if I can fit a VAG diesel in there instead...

At least the BCU for the Streetwise was fixed and returned to me last tuesday so that's back on the Road for Clare to get to and from work.

Hopefully post some pics of how the A4's progressing soon.

Cheers

Neil
