Hi!

My 1st post on here....

My next car will probably be a A4. It must be Auto and s-line. Engines im not too fussy as I know the 1.8T, 2.0TDI & 2.0T are great engines.

What should I look for when getting one - apart from the usual car stuff what are A4 like?

Firstly, welcome to the forum []

As you say, the engine options are all great so imo just boils down to personal choice etc, as for the Auto i'd go for the conventional tip-tronic box as opposed to the Multitronic CVT version, the Multitronic is a little strange imo, quite a delay when pulling away and always seems to be revving high due to it being one of those constant velocity belt jobbies...

The A4's seem to be very robust and don't seem to suffer high mileages badly at all, some early ones did suffer with front suspension bush wear but the design was revised for later ones iirc, check for drivers seat side bolster wear and all the other general car stuff and you should get a very nice car [Y]

Hi thanks for the post back mate.

The more i research the car the more im liking it. Thats for letting me know about the CVT box. Is it difficult to tell if the car is CVT or auto/tip? I believe most of the ones i have seen are CVT? Does the gearing gate have a difference?

Does the B7 still have the DSG box ? or did they change the name to s - tronic ??

looking at getting a B7 Avant in a year or so and i'm intrigued by the DSG paddle shift business as i heard its pretty good.
