Got the Airbag warning light on on my A3 Sportback.

Diagnosis says Code 1221 - Driver side Crash sensor Open circuit

Any ideas on where this sensor is, and how do you get to it?

Seen something on the web that there may be a notified problem from Audi with these sensors?

Im not sure where the sensor is to be honest. In the A4 B6 its in the B pillar trim. That comes off and its below the seat belt.

If you wanted to test it you can swap it for the passenger side one (if its easy to get to and you have spare time) and then the fault code will turn to 1222 i think, which is passenger side crash sensor. So then you know its not the wiring but the sensor. My sensor had got damp.
