Looking at a couple of A4 TDIs, and trying to compare them like for like. One is a 2.0ltr TDi SE 140, and the other is a 2.0ltr TDV TDi SE 140.

What spec or otherwise is there different?

Yeah, that's a bit of a bugger as the one I found was spectacular for the price. I wonder if it's a possibility to do the DPF delete thing and map out the ecu function which monitors it.

Any ideas where will do the removal, and remapping of course. I've seen threads on other forums where someone cut his own DPF open and removed the guts, then tig welded it all back together. Apparently the DPF delete pipe can be rather expensive...

FWIW, don't let the DPF put you off as long as you're not using it just to potter around town in. If you're using it for some longer drives, you'll be fine. I've had one instance of DPF light on, which was caused by a faulty sensor and not the DPF itself.

Also, if you have vagcom, you can force a regeneration anyway.

Yep, I registered over there just today and asked the question same as here. No one's answered yet. 725 members online, and no one talking.

Anyway, the car in question is a 56 plate with rather sparse details. Would it be a 140 or a 170?
