does anyone know what boost pressure you get before and after remap as i want a boost gauge so i can keep an eye on my turbo but dont know what size to get i.e 1 or 2 bar?

hi mate

diesels don't generate a vacuum so you only need a gauge that reads positive pressure.

diesels also run higher boost than turbo so 2 bar one should do the trick.

IIRC, they hit up to 20psi = 1.5ish, 25 psi = 2ish should be good

Youll struggle to find just a positive only gauge as they are all designed for petrols mainly.I wouldnt worry about the vacuum so much just try and find an electrical one with an air sensor so the sweep movement is smooth like your dials.BEWARE of cheap crap £40+ minimum and you will want one upto 2 Bar

pd 140 engine has a 3bar map sensor standard boost will reach 2.5 bar on spikes

remapped it will hit the 3 bar limit

so could it use a 2 bar guage? or would it not read properly? as i havent seen any 3 bar ones?

3 bar ? i was told 2 bar would be fine.

Doubt it goes that high tbh...

may be worth asking on uk-mkivs to see what the guys are running there!

i thought 3 bar seems a bit high need to get a gauge on it i think will rip my mates off his bmw and try a run see what it says just pipe it up and shove it through the window lol

i have a boost gauge on my 1.9tdi its 30psi, just over 2bar. newshouth performance is where i got it from.

id guess it wouldnt be far off that then could be worth a 3 bar gauge then or 30-40psi if possible
